作为一名医大的志愿者，我被分配到市儿童医院的骨科，协助医生工作。那天，我们要为一个手臂骨折的小女孩进行复位和固定。于医生吩咐我先带小女孩去激光科拍片，但无论我如何哄劝，她都紧握着脏兮兮的史努比，不肯放下，哭闹不休。

好半天，我终于松了一口气，对她说：“小朋友听话，放下史努比，我们先去治病。”然而，她没有听见似的，只是大哭。正当我无计可施时，于医生走了过来，用四川方言模仿地对她说：“你叫雪儿，是不是五岁半？” girl nodded, still crying.

“噢!你的史努比真可爱。”于医生微笑着说，“它和你一样招人喜欢。我想，它知道你受伤了，心里一定很难受吧？咱们赶快治好手臂，让它也能安心陪伴你。”

girl looked up at upon, her eyes filled with worry. “幼儿园塌下来的时候，史努比是和我在一起的。而且，我还压到了它的手。”

Upon smiled and said, “那么我们就抱着它一起去检查吧。不过，看起来，史努比是个坚强、勇敢的小狗哦。它不哭也不闹，是不是？”

girl smiled through her tears, looking proud to have a brave dog like Snuffles by her side. She handed upon one of her small hands, and they went to the X-ray room together.

The X-rays showed that girl's elbow was severely displaced and needed to be fixed with a cast. Upon instructed me to help prepare girl for surgery while she held onto Snuffles tightly. I slowly pushed the stretcher as we entered the plaster room.

After administering anesthesia, girl fell asleep quickly. Upon guided me in positioning girl's arm and using traction to open up the displaced bones before securing them with a cast. As an added touch of care, upon created two beautiful "white butterflies" – delicate ties on the ends of each cast that hung from girl's wrist straps.

Upon finished tending to both girl and Snuffles without saying a word until she indicated it was time for surgery completion. I was perplexed but admired how meticulously she had cared for both patients.

With all done, upon gently placed Snuffles back into its makeshift sling next to girl’s arm before letting out a sigh of relief herself."Now everything is fine,"she said simply but profoundly.

I couldn't help but praise: "You are indeed very meticulous!"

Upon replied: "Disasters leave too many shadows in children's hearts; apart from physical pain, their emotional world needs tender care as well."
