I don't want to let her feel that I'm getting impatient, but I still interrupted her. "Ma'am, how about I come and check your car?"
"Let me finish my story." The lady replied.
Maggie continued telling her story, and I used a pencil to lightly tap on the stack of exam papers in front of me. "Suddenly, two young men in their twenties appeared from nowhere. They stopped behind me. I didn't know what they wanted to do and was terrified."
"They asked me what happened," Maggie said, "and judging by the sound coming from the car, they could make it run again. So I opened the hood."
"I sat in the car, silently praying that these two guys wouldn't do anything bad," Maggie continued. "After a while, they shouted at me to start the engine! It was unbelievable!"
"Their car had been fixed," she said gratefully before hanging up.
This is unbelievable! For a moment or so after receiving this call during class time when one's mind should be focused on teaching students instead of listening attentively to an unexpected phone conversation with an unknown caller who happens not only once but twice unexpectedly appear out there somewhere along life’s journey—then suddenly find themselves stepping into unfamiliar territory; finding oneself drawn towards something which seems utterly beyond comprehension yet impossible; discovering new aspects within oneself that were previously hidden away like buried treasures waiting for excavation—this is indeed most rewarding for any teacher no matter how long he/she has been teaching as it brings them back onto familiar ground where every single lesson learned serves as reminder that all his/her hard work has not gone unnoticed nor unappreciated.
And thus we see here today how even though our lives may seem dull at times filled with routine chores such as grading exams (as seen above) or going through endless paperwork (which many might consider mundane tasks), each day holds its own unique surprise waiting just around corner ready spring forth into existence making our experiences richer more meaningful than ever imagined possible!
So next time you find yourself feeling bored stuck within four walls staring blankly at some old textbook wondering if there’s any real purpose left for your profession remember this little tale shared above: never underestimate power human connection can have over us because you never know when someone will reach out offer support help just like those two strangers did yesterday evening outside St Luke Hospital -who knows maybe someday someone will return favor pay forward kindness shown by helping another person solve problem similar situation?
