作为一名医大的志愿者，我被分配到市儿童医院的骨科，协助处理来自四川灾区的小伤员。有一天，我们要对一个手臂骨折的小女孩进行复位和固定手术。那时，她紧握着一只脏兮兮的史努比不肯放开，不愿跟我走。我试图哄劝她，但她只是哭闹不休。

于医生见状过来，模仿四川方言，微笑着说：“你叫雪儿，是不是?” girl nodded, still sniffling. “Ah, Xiao Xue is a good girl,” the doctor said, stroking her cheek. “This Snupe is your friend? It must be sad to see you hurt.”

The girl looked at the dirty dog and nodded firmly. The doctor smiled and said, “Oh! Your Snupe is cute. It likes you just as much as it’s liked by others.” He continued, “We’ll fix your arm quickly so we can play with it too!”

The girl hesitated for a moment then nodded her head in agreement and leaned on the doctor's shoulder.

Suddenly she looked up at him with worry in her eyes and said, "When the kindergarten collapsed, Snupe was with me. And I also pressed on its hand."

"Oh," replied the doctor with a smile. "So Snupe got hurt too? Let's take it along for examination then." He added jokingly, "Looks like Snupe is strong and brave."

The little girl smiled proudly despite her tears.

X-ray results showed that the child's elbow had been severely displaced and required surgery.

I pushed a gurney carrying both the girl and her beloved toy into an operating room where upon medical guidance I supported one of her arms while under anesthesia she fell asleep peacefully.

Under Dr.'s supervision I carefully helped align broken bones before setting them back into place using traction methods until they clicked into position; finally securing everything with castings which were neatly wrapped around each limb forming two delicate butterflies adorning wrists straps hanging from either side of their chest respectively.

Upon completion of all tasks but not yet done - my confusion was palpable when upon glancing out at other children waiting for treatment - Dr.'s silence spoke volumes instead: she took hold of history-doggy gently wrapping stone-cast bandage over its dirty arm alongside creating another beautiful butterfly ornamentation hanging gracefully around neck before placing it snugly within young patient's bent elbow resting comfortably there after exhaling softly saying 'now' signaling task completion satisfaction shared between us volunteers witnessing such acts selflessness compassion given through our work together making this world more loving caring place
