天上飞着小燕子，地下跑着小兔子，一个个无忧无愁，快快乐乐。可我拖着条有残疾的腿，连步也迈不开(睡前故事1000字)。对它们，我真羡慕极了时常一个人呆呆地望着它们幻想：小燕子呀，你能帮我长出灵巧的翅膀来吗？小兔子呀，你肯借我一条健壮的腿吗……

我气哭了，他们却哈哈地笑。哼，说吧，早晚把舌头根子烂掉去。

一天中午，爸爸和娘去地里拾掇棉花。我在家里憋闷得慌，将领着来到村西的小河边。一群光腚猴儿，在河里嬉耍着先是把河坡撩上水，小身体坐在上面磨擦着眨眼崖坡变得好似一面溜溜光镜片儿他们坐在上面打“哧溜滑”。经不住这种引诱，我怕他栽跟头赶紧两手死死搂住他。

这只发卡可是我心上的宝贝，上面有一只蓝色的大蝴蝶，有颗颗花斑好似天上五颜六色的星星最外面还套着金灿灿铜环名字叫竖琴式嘻嘻竖琴式……觉得新鲜，小手使劲拽蝴蝶头细触角往空中抛起没长全牙嘴喊：“灰（飞）！”

这一下可真“灰”了，“竖琴式”一下落在河坡下滚到河里去了。“哇”的一声哭开了几个光腚猴儿在水里掉过头来：“喂，这掉下什么来了？”

“我——琴——花（发）卡——伏（蝴）蝶……”指向河下急得不知如何是好他们被这说不清楚的话，一时弄得莫名其妙，不由把目光一起转向我。我半点儿不露声色好像压根没发生什么事一样。我知道这些闲散之辈心眼嘎著哩专爱幸灾乐祸。你丢东西越稀罕他们便越开心惬意。我宁愿让那里的鱼虾戴那个“竖琴式”，也不愿说出我丢了东西。

正这样想，“啪！”一团苲草抛上了岸几滴污泥溅到我的新凉鞋上。我的目光投向那只黑影从崖坡上飞下来砸进水面的瞬间。“砰！”溅起大水花经不住这种引诱挓挲开胳膊要试试身手。但是我怕他栽跟头赶紧两手死死搂住他。这只发卡可是宝贝啊!

太阳挂在西边树丫上了，小动物们玩累了一个个爬上了岸来。我赶紧领着往家走。我怕他们哪一个舌头发痒又冲我念那牙碜人的绕口令。

I lead them down the riverbank, through the woods, and along the grassy path. Suddenly, I hear a rustling sound behind me, followed by "whispering" laughter. I turn around to see a group of "little humps" following me. These little monkey-like creatures were all mimicking my movements, walking unevenly like me.

I was both embarrassed and annoyed; tears filled my eyes. "Scram! It's annoying to be idle, go chase after dogs to play!" A loud roar echoed behind me as an old man from the village appeared from the woods with his fists clenched and eyes wide open.

He looked just like a mischievous little girl sitting under our family tree in silence. But now he had transformed into a fierce beast ready to devour someone!

Older brother said: "Ahem... Little Brother should take care of this well-injured monkey for you." And then added: "And you can keep that healthy big monkey."

Little Brother agreed but later felt sorry for hurting another living creature so decided not only not to kill it but also release it back into nature hoping that maybe it would find its own healing herb there (wolf vs rabbit heartwarming story).

After some days when Big Monkey came back alive Little Brother found out about its incredible recovery which made him think about using these herbs for healing other animals too...

As fate would have it these two brothers became famous throughout their region for healing injured animals with herbal medicine based on what Big Monkey had taught them...

One day older brother happened upon their city where his younger brother had set up shop offering medical services based on those same herbs they used earlier...
