汪国真，1956年6月22日出生于北京，他的童年在工厂的旋转和熔炉中成长。1982年，他毕业于暨南大学中文系，那时他已经开始了诗歌的探索，喜欢将灵感融入到打油诗之中，如《学校一天》曾在《中国青年报》上见诸纸面。毕业后，他投身文化工作，在中国艺术研究院任职，并担任《中国文艺年鉴》的编辑部副主任。在此期间，他不仅为《辽宁青年》、《中国青年》、《女友》撰写专栏，还与读者分享自己的创作心得。
汪国真自称受到了四位大师的影响：李商隐、李清照、普希金和狄金森。他追求的是一种综合风格——普希金式抒情、狄金森式凝炼、李商隐式警策以及李清照式清丽。他对自己的作品有着极高要求，也因此在当代诗人中脱颖而出。在1997年的调查中，被誉为新时代最受欢迎的当代诗人之一。

His works have also been exhibited in hotels like the Shangri-La group. In 2002, he was included in the publication "China's Famous Calligraphers" by China Literature and Art Publishing House.
Entering the new century, he began to explore music composition. He has been featured on various TV programs such as CCTV's "The Eastern Son," "Art People," "Variety Grand View," and Hong Kong's Phoenix TV's "Lu Yu Has a Chat." In 2003 November to December, he served as a judge for four consecutive episodes of Central Television's music competition show "Music Arena."
